Running surface is a crucial part of a treadmill. It is where you run. If it is long and wide enough to run comfortably, then only you’ll be having a good treadmill experience.
The ideal treadmill running surface is based on our height. Short people may run on a smaller running surface, but tall people do require a larger running surface.
Here is how you can select the ideal treadmill running surface size for you!
If your height is 5.5 ft or less than that, then a running surface of 14″ wide & 44″ long is considered to be ideal for walking, and 16″ wide & 46″ long for running.
If your height is between 5.6 ft to 5.8 ft, then a running surface of 16″ wide & 46″ long is considered to be ideal for walking, and 18″ wide & 48″ long for running.
If your height is between 5.9 ft to 6.1 ft, then a running surface of 18″ wide & 48″ long is considered to be ideal for walking, and 20″ wide & 50″ long for running.
If your height is 6.2 ft or more than that, then a running surface of 20″ wide & 50″ long is considered to be ideal for walking, and 22″ wide & 52″ long for running.
